Fine ACts / TedX
In december 2023. Fine Acts a global creative studio for social impact and TEDx joined forces for a creative bootcamp on climate change, where 10 artist from 13 different countries had just TWO days to produce a in illustration to create conscious about climate change. I was one of the selected artist to represent Guatemala.
Bicentenario
In 2021, for the Bicentennial celebration of Guatemala's Independence, a mapping art festival was held over the National Palace, located in the heart of Zone 1 in Guatemala City. For this project, the Ministry of Culture selected 10 artists to represent different styles and forms of expression from the Guatemalan artistic scene. I was honored to be one of the chosen artists, and I created the artwork titled "Identidad Guatemalteca" (Guatemalan Identity), where I represented the four ethnic groups of Guatemala. The event was broadcasted through national TV to the entire country.
WanderProject
In 2016, a local art collective and accessories designers organized their 5th art exhibition, called Wander Project, where they showcased the work of emerging artists to the Guatemalan creative industry. That year, they asked us to create an artistic piñata, and at the end of the event, we broke it as part of an artistic happening. For my design, I chose to create an egg covered with paper feathers, symbolizing the birth of new artists. When the piñata was broken, it was filled with real feathers inside. This event opened many doors for me in the Guatemalan creative scene.
Filgua (International Book Fair of Guatemala)
In 2017 at FILGUAI had the honor to be part of a panel of illustrators talking about the illustration scene in Guatemala, with this event we also had a art exhibition representing characters from famous books.
SCBWI
In 2023 I had the honor of being accepted as part of the Guatemalan SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators).
