About
She is deeply committed to using art to promote diversity, inclusion, and positive social change.
Her love for drawing and painting began in childhood, with a special inspiration drawn from animated shows like Postman Pat and Pingu. It was through these shows that her interest in creating with modeling clay first took root. This passion led her to pursue a career in graphic design at Guatemalan UNIS university. Her college years also introduced her to live-action production through the Cinema Club, which sparked her interest in storytelling.
After graduating in 2016, she launched her professional career as a designer and illustrator by illustrating her first children's books for Santillana Editorial, “Acha la Cucaracha” and “El Monstruo de los Enredos”. Her work combines traditional modeling clay with digital techniques to create a distinctive, tactile style.
In addition to her professional projects, she has volunteered to share the joy of art with Guatemalan children. In 2019, she joined Athentikos, an organization that teaches children how to process trauma through art, which deepened her commitment to using her skills to support kids. She continues to collaborate with organizations such as OACNUDH (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) in Guatemala, 5by5 Agency (based in Nashville), FH Guatemala, the Niñas Furia women’s collective, and the Visibles LGBTQ collective.
Over the years, her work has earned recognition, including second place in the Do It Yourself competition by Yorokobu Magazine in collaboration with Volkswagen Spain. She’s also proud to be accepted into the Guatemalan chapter of SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators).
