FH Guatemala (Food for the hungry)
Half of the children in Guatemala under the age of 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition, marking their lives forever. Thousands of families endure hunger—not just the lack of food, but hunger for a better future, for resources, for opportunities, options, and development. At Food for the Hungry Guatemala, they serve in challenging areas, helping communities facing poverty, injustice, and marginalization.
In 2019 and 2020, I had the honor of collaborating with FH by leading workshops with children from the Xix community in Quiché, where they created artwork focused on the future they envision for their communities. Afterward, I incorporated elements from their artwork into my own illustrations, and together we produced prints and merchandise to sell at an event to raise funds for the communities.
