Workshop: In 2019, I had the honor of giving a workshop at one of the top three design universities in Guatemala and my Alma Mater. I shared about my career, we had a creative design session using modeling clay to bring ideas to life.
Short-term classes: From 2019 to 2020, I taught a winter program for educators looking for design tools to enhance their lessons. They learned about storytelling and character design, using modeling clay as a hands-on tool.
Lecture: In 2022, I was invited to give a lecture on being a freelance illustrator in Guatemala. I shared my experience and discussed the importance of developing a personal style as an independent designer.
Universidad Francisco Marroquín
Workshop: In 2020, I was invited to one of the most prestigious Universities in Guatemala to give a workshop for design students at the UFM Design Week 2020, I shared the importance of the form in the composition and how elements can tell a storr.
Short-term classes: In 2021 and 2023, I was hired to teach a summer class for design students, where we studied visual narrative using the stop-motion animation technique.
Conference: In 2020, I had the opportunity to be invited to give a lecture to first-year design students. I shared my experience of becoming an independent illustrator in a country where the profession isn’t even part of the university curriculum, as well as the challenges of offering high-quality products to promote local talent.
